Help Greenfield Nursery and Primary School Raise UGX 35 Million for a School Car
Fundraising Campaign: September–November 2026
At Greenfield Nursery and Primary School in Rubanda District, Southwestern Uganda, we are committed to providing children with a safe, supportive and quality learning environment. As our school continues to grow, we are also facing practical challenges that require long-term solutions.
One of these important needs is reliable transportation.
We are therefore launching a fundraising campaign to raise UGX 35,000,000 (Thirty-Five Million Uganda Shillings) to purchase a Toyota Ractis 2012 for Greenfield Nursery and Primary School.
Why We Need a School Car
A school vehicle would become an important resource for our daily operations and for supporting our children.
The car will help us with:
- Children's transport when transportation is needed for school-related activities.
- Emergency transportation, including taking a child to a health facility when urgent medical attention is required.
- Purchasing and transporting school supplies, food and other essential materials.
- School activities and educational trips, as well as other activities that require reliable transportation.
- Administrative and operational needs that currently require arranging outside transportation.
Our goal is to have a vehicle that can serve the school for many years and reduce the difficulties and costs associated with depending on hired or borrowed transportation.
We Previously Tried to Raise Funds for a Larger Bus
This is not the first time we have considered getting school transportation.
Some years ago, we explored fundraising for a larger coaster bus that could provide greater transportation capacity for the school. We received encouragement and interest from supporters, but we were not able to raise enough funds to reach the cost of the bus.
Rather than giving up on the need for reliable transportation, we have decided to take a more practical and achievable approach.
Instead of pursuing a much larger and more expensive vehicle, we are now setting a fundraising target of UGX 35 million for a Toyota Ractis 2012.
We believe this is a realistic first step that can allow the school to begin addressing some of its most important transportation needs while staying within a more manageable budget.
Why a Toyota Ractis 2012?
We are looking for a vehicle that is practical, economical and suitable for the school's immediate needs.
A Toyota Ractis 2012 offers a more affordable option than a larger bus and can be useful for school errands, emergency transportation, administrative work and selected school activities.
Most importantly, we want to make responsible use of the funds entrusted to us. Our intention is not simply to acquire a vehicle, but to find a practical vehicle that the school can maintain and use for the long term.

We are appealing to our friends, supporters, well-wishers, organizations and people around the world who believe in supporting children and education in rural Uganda.
We will also be carrying out local fundraising efforts alongside our online campaign.
Every contribution will bring us closer to our goal.
Whether someone contributes UGX 5,000, UGX 50,000, UGX 500,000 or more, every contribution becomes part of the journey toward getting the school its own vehicle.
How the Car Will Benefit the Children
For us, the most important reason for having a school car is the children.
When a child becomes sick and needs urgent medical attention, having transportation available can help us respond more quickly.
When the school needs to obtain food or essential supplies, having our own vehicle can make the process easier.
When children participate in educational activities outside the school, reliable transportation can help make those opportunities more accessible.
A school car will therefore support not only the administration, but also the safety, welfare and educational experience of our children.

Our hope is that by the end of November 2026, we will have raised enough to purchase the vehicle and begin using it to support Greenfield Nursery and Primary School.
