At Greenfield Nursery and Primary School in Rubanda District, southwestern Uganda, 580 children come to learn, grow, and build hope for their future. Many of these children are orphans or come from very poor families, and the school is not just a place of education—it is a place of safety and opportunity.
However, one major challenge continues to affect their daily learning:
We do not have a proper space for key school activities.

The Challenge We Face
Every day, children and teachers struggle with limited space.
- No examination hall: During exams, classrooms become overcrowded and unconducive for concentration.
- Rain disruption: When it rains, lessons and activities are interrupted because there is no large sheltered space.
- Limited room for debates and co-curricular activities: Every Friday, our children participate in debates to build confidence and communication skills—but space is not enough.
- No chapel or assembly space: We lack a proper place for prayer, guidance, and gathering as a school community.
- No meeting hall for parents and guardians: Engaging families is difficult without a suitable space to meet.
These challenges affect not just learning, but the overall development and well-being of our children.
Our Solution: A Multipurpose School Hall
We are planning to construct a multipurpose hall that will transform learning conditions at our school.
This hall will serve as:
- An examination room for all classes
- A chapel and assembly space
- A safe shelter during rainy seasons
- A venue for debates and student activities
- A meeting hall for parents, guardians, and community gatherings
Expanding Learning Space: Classrooms Upstairs
To maximize impact, the building will also include:
Three classrooms on the upper floor
These additional classrooms will:
- Reduce overcrowding in existing classes
- Create a better learning environment
- Allow us to serve more children in need
Who Will Benefit
- 580 children currently enrolled
- Future students who will gain access to education
- Teachers and staff
- Parents and the wider community
This is not just a building—it is an investment in an entire community.
