In rural communities across Uganda, many children face challenges that can make accessing quality education difficult. Poverty, loss of parents, limited household resources, and other hardships can prevent children from receiving the education, care, and opportunities they need to build a better future.
Greenfield Kids Foundation is working to make a difference by supporting needy children and orphans in Rubanda District, southwestern Uganda, through education, care, and community support.
Our Work With Vulnerable Children
Greenfield Kids Foundation was established with a simple purpose: to help children who face difficult circumstances have access to education and an opportunity to develop their potential.
Through our work and Greenfield Nursery and Primary School, we provide an environment where children can learn, grow, and develop important skills for their future.
The children we serve come from different backgrounds, but many experience financial and social challenges that can affect their education and wellbeing.
Education as a Path to a Brighter Future
Education can give children knowledge and skills that can remain with them throughout their lives. For children growing up in vulnerable circumstances, access to education can also provide stability, encouragement, and opportunities that might otherwise be difficult to obtain.
At Greenfield, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn regardless of their family circumstances.
Our focus goes beyond classroom lessons. We also work to support children's basic needs and create a safe and supportive school environment.
Supporting More Than the Classroom
For a child to learn effectively, education needs to be supported by other basic needs.
Our work therefore includes efforts to improve areas such as:
- School meals and nutrition
- Clean water and sanitation
- Safe and suitable learning facilities
- Desks and classroom equipment
- Bedding for boarding children
- Health and hygiene
- Educational materials
- Support for children facing difficult circumstances
These areas are important because a child who is hungry, lacks basic facilities, or does not have a safe place to learn can face additional barriers to education.
Serving Children in Rural Rubanda
Rubanda District is located in southwestern Uganda, where many families live in rural communities.
Greenfield Kids Foundation is committed to working within this community and responding to practical needs affecting children and their education.
Our goal is not simply to provide a place where children attend school. We want to help create an environment where vulnerable children can feel cared for, develop confidence, acquire knowledge, and prepare for their future.

Children should not have their future determined by the difficult circumstances into which they were born.

Our Vision for the Future
As the number of children needing support continues to grow, there is also a growing need for better learning facilities, adequate meals, clean water, sanitation, educational materials, and other resources.
Greenfield Kids Foundation continues to work with individuals, organizations, and friends of our work who believe that children in rural communities deserve opportunities to learn and thrive.
